Paul Silverthorne is the Chairman and CEO of Dimax Controls. He is a graduate mechanical engineer and has worked in the consulting and control industries in North America since 1968. He founded Multitrol Corporation in 1978 (whose assets were purchased by Butler Manufacturing where Silverthorne served as Senior Vice President in 1983-85) and he founded Dimax Controls in 1986. Both companies have set new standards used by the controls industry today.
Paul has been successful at launching several intriguing and visionary businesses during his career. Paul is also well published (having written 14 technical papers for trade journals and keynote addresses), and he has acted as a specialist consultant both in engineering and in business. He has written and developed 6 significant software packages for accounting, life cycle costing and building performance simulation, and he holds a number of trade marks and patents. He has been the keynote speaker at international conferences and at one point taught part time at the School of Architecture at the University of Toronto.
