David Holmberg

BACnet Utility Integration Workgroup Lead
NIST - BACnet

David Holmberg has been with NIST Building and Fire Research Lab for 8 years and has served on the BACnet committee as Utility Integration Working Group leader for the past 5 years. During that time, a number of BACnet objects have been crafted to support utility interaction including the Load Control, Pulse Converter and Accumulator objects. The BACnet committee has also developed a Web Services standard that allows business systems (such as a utility data center) to read and write data to building automation systems.

David Holmberg is also leader at NIST of a project to deliver building system information to emergency responders. NIST is working with NEMA and fire system vendors to see a standard developed for building control system to public safety user interface communications.
