Session Overview

DR Technologies, Standards & Trends

Track: DR Facts, Realities & Opportunities
Wednesday May 21, 2008
11:30 - 1:00

This session will discuss trends in standards and technologies to support demand response. There will be two types of relevant standards. One type of standard focuses on control and communications to support open, interoperable technology and common information and signaling systems. Second are building energy codes such as California’s Building Energy Code known as Title 24. This session will provide overview and details on the advancement of automated DR (AutoDR) using standard-based technologies such as DR automation server (DRAS) standards initiative. These standards and technologies are geared to support two-way communication and can be used for both, price and reliability-based DR programs and tariffs. Details on these standards, AutoDR, Programmable Communicating Thermostats (PCT), reference designs, will be included in the session.
